For the fifth consecutive year EAEA launches its annual country reports in order to provide a civil society insight into the situation of adult education across the continent. The reports outline developments in adult education in different European countries over the past year while they are providing a ground for comparisons between countries. The 2018 edition gathers information from 37 countries.

On Tuesday the 16^th of October more than 30 participants gathered in Brussels for the conference “Transforming lives, society and adult education through life skills”. Participants had the chance to discuss the results of the Erasmus+ project “Life Skills for Europe (LSE)” and to exchange inspiring topic-related initiatives at the policy and practice levels.

The Implementing Outreach, Empowerment and Diversity project (implOED) has just launched a comprehensive and hands-on document which will help policy makers and practitioners in the field of adult education and beyond to improve practitioners’ skills as adult educators, involve learners in self-determination of their learning and to find out what makes a difference at policy level.

EAEA Younger Staff Training 2018 brought together adult education professionals from across Europe to network and exchange around policy and advocacy, life skills and project work in adult learning.

Adult education contributes to and promotes many of the Sustainable Development Goals. New EAEA background paper takes a closer look at the interlinkages between adult education and sustainability.

Working in an Intercultural Context project trained social workers and their organisations in intercultural competences and awareness to ensure successfull pathways of integration for migrants. Juan E. Marcos talks about the project.

Registration for the “ImplOED and LSE final conferences: improving lives and social cohesion through adult education” have now been opened. The events will be organised on 16-17 October.
