EAEA Annual Conference on Transformative Learning and Values was held in Mechelen Cultural Centre, Belgium on 30-31 May 2022. The event gathered around 80 adult education professionals from 25 countries.

We must act now for climate justice: this was the consensus of the webinar on “No Greening without Adult Learning and Education” held on 3 June and co-organised by EAEA, ICAE and Solidar. The event brought together key stakeholders in the field of transformative learning and sustainability, and took place in the framework of the United Nations Stockholm+50 Conference.
PSL competences can bridge non-formal adult learning with further education and employment
Key institutions and stakeholders in adult learning and employment – including from the European Commission, the OECD and the Belgian public employment and training institution Le Forem – discussed how PSL competences can enable adult learners in making the step from non-formal learning into further education and employment opportunities. The event took place on 17 May in Brussels and was organised by EAEA.

Lifelong Learning Interest Group on values education and lifelong learning – recap
With the participation of President Metsola, the Lifelong Learning Interest Group of the European Parliament met on the 17th of May 2022 to discuss the question of values that are – and should be – taught in the education system and in non-formal learning. Chaired by Sirpa Pietikäinen MEP, the meeting brought together Members of the European Parliament, Civil Society Organisations, decision makers and practitioners, reflecting a variety of views on the role of value education in the European project and beyond.
