Who we are
CEP Alcalá de Guadaíra provides formation and training for teachers belonging to the primary, secondary, adult, vocational training, and artistic education centres in the province of Seville. Our institution belongs to the regional government of Andalusia (Spain).
What we do
We routinely organise courses, seminars, and workshops. We also develop formative plans and educational programs.
The scope of this job spans a broad range of topics. In the brach of adult education, we provide formation in innovative teaching methods involving open educational resources and information and communication technologies (I.C.T.) to develop basic skills and key competencies in adult learners.
Non-formal programs of education for older people are also present. Particular attention is paid to work-based learning in areas such as health and financial literacy, cultural heritage, foreign languages (English, primarily), and I.C.T. aimed to narrow the digital divide.
Social inclusion of people with disabilities and immigrants is heeded too. Every year we design a developmental pathway, subject to the demands of the teachers, which focuses on special education needs. So far, we have built a workgroup, which deals with the specific learning difficulties of people in prisons.
Since we work in one of the areas in Europe with the highest unemployment rates, the promotion of the sense of initiative, entrepreneurship, and employability of the students play an essential role. We work in cooperation with the regional government and local authorities to provide information, advice, and guidance concerning education and training paths as well as dissemination of the different employment programs and social aids available to entrepreneurs.
Concerning innovation and research, we develop research programs in critical areas like prevention of absenteeism and school abandonment and provide formation to help with the application processes for KA1 and KA2 Erasmus+ projects.
We also focus on the diffusion and dissemination of results and good practices between the whole community of adult education teachers. The most significant achievements arising from the different formation activities and teaching practices are shared in workshops and seminars, which are periodically celebrated every academic year.
Adult teachers from the region of Andalusia have free access to the online Moodle platform (https://educacionadistancia.
A general overview of this dense training program can be obtained via the Android App: “EPER”, where we explain the different formative itineraries via a series of video tutorials.
Best practices
We collaborate in international research and innovation projects in collaboration with the National Research Council (C.S.I.C.) in Spain promoting the S.T.E.M. methodology, Universidad Pablo Olavide in Seville in studies concerning the prevention of absenteeism and abandonment in schools, and the regional government, Junta de Andalucia, via a set of different programs: Prodig, SELFIE, Horizon2020…
We also encourage, promote, and participate in KA1 and KA2 Erasmus+ projects.
