Visualising adult education

“Live and Learn” project produces audio-visual stories on adult education. EAEA is a partner in the two-year Erasmus+ project, coordinated by a Finnish EAEA member KVS – The Finnish Lifelong Learning Foundation.

“Live and Learn” is inspired by two observations, shared by most European adult education policy documents and relevant stories. Firstly, there is a clear need to increase participation in adult education across Europe. Secondly, new ways of sharing best practices among European adult educators must be found.

The two-year project will address these needs in an innovative way: through the medium of videos. At the kick-off meeting in January 2015 in Helsinki, the partners discussed the first steps of creating short films that tell informative and entertaining stories about adult learning. The target audiences of the videos will be adult educators as well as the general public and policy makers in Europe.

Practical ideas and inspiration for adult learning

Ten videos – two videos in five different European countries – will be produced in the framework of the project. The videos targeted at the adult educators will offer practical ideas and share good practices for professional development of European adult educators. The videos targeted at the general public and policy makers will tell the story of a successful adult learner that can inspire audience to engage in learning. They also provide further knowledge about the benefits of adult learning.

The project coordinator is KVS – The Finnish Lifelong Learning Foundation. Project partners include EAEA as the dissemination partner as well as the EAEA members DVV International (Germany), NIACE (United Kingdom), DAEA (Denmark), and Kerigma (Portugal). Videos will be produced in Finland, Germany, UK, Denmark and Portugal. They will be available in the end of 2016.

17.06.2025 EAEA Annual Conference

When learners speak, lead and create: A discussion on learner agency, strategies and policy through the learners’ voice

In adult learning, the term “learner voice” is often celebrated—but rarely interrogated. Too often, it’s confused with surveys, feedback forms, or participation in pre-designed activities. What’s missing is the deeper question: Who holds the power to shape what adult learning is—and whose experiences are allowed to influence its design, delivery, and direction?

16.06.2025 twin transition

The Twin Transition as a skills revolution in the agri-food sector

The twin transition can not only be understood as a move to a greener and digital state, but as an urgent call for a skills revolution across all sectors. The twin transition is a set of purposeful shifts of complex systems (that contain social, technological, and natural elements) toward a more sustainable and digitalized future state.
