Study visit: Community education

Community education is adult learning which takes place in local community settings across  Ireland. It is learner-centred and responds to the needs of the local community. Community  education has a track record of effectively engaging with people who wish to return to  education but may not have the confidence or opportunity to do so in a formal setting. The study visit will focus on practical aspects of  community education work, and will include experts, staff and learners from community  education organisations who will explain the work, challenges and achievements.

Participants will understand and observe the following key concepts such as:

-Community Education Settings: How the work is carried out, key concepts

-Community Education in a Time of Covid 19

-CEN: Community Education Network

-CEN Census Work: Learner Voice Centered, qualitative and quantitative research

-Best practices and sources for inspiration.

The event will take place within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA3 REGALE project. and will be hosted by AONTAS. If interested, please contact Aleksandra Kozyra at aleksandra.kozyra (at) eaea.org.
