Objectives
The main aims of the network are:
- To promote Intergenerational Learning (IGL) by bringing together practitioners throughout Europe
- To facilitate the exchange of ideas, expertise and effective practice by establishing channels of communication
- To create support structures for influencing policy through research, dissemination and advocacy
Outcomes
The project results were as follows:
- 3 annual reports on the state-of-art in IGL in Europe
- 3 conferences, one every year, based on the results of the reports above.
- European Glossary for IGL translated in all partner languages.
- Website for exchange of expertise in IGL and as a forum for practitioners´ voices.
- Support the streamlining, development, marketing and delivery of Grundtvig IST courses in the field of IGL.
- Network magazine with a biannual frequency, online and hard copies.
- National advocacy colloquiums in each partner country.

Conferences
The third ENIL Conference took place in Cuence, Spain on the 16-18 October 2013. This year’s topic was “Intergenerational Learning Cities” and it was an occasion to present the benefits of Intergenerational Learning to different aspects of life in a city: from social cohesion to employment.

The second ENIL conference was theld in Nurnberg on the 24-26 October 2012. It brought together more than 70 educators, practitioners, policy makers, organisations and individuals across Europe to discuss about Intergenerational Learning: Towards Active Ageing and Integenerational Solidarity.
One of the aims of the conference was to present the report on Intergenerational Learning and Active Ageing, which has been produced by four international experts as the result of a study carried out between June and September 2012 at the request of the European Network for Intergenerational Learning.
