Imagine a community that works collectively on climate issues that matter to them, to promote equitable learning through action. LEVERS is exploring the potential of local learning ecosystems as a tool for community climate engagement, learning, and action. Nine partner Learning Venture demonstrator regions in Europe will be working with stakeholders from formal, non-formal,l and informal education.
The mission of the project is
LEVERS is a collaborative initiative that brings together partners across education levels, community organisations, research and innovation sectors, industry, and government. The project is designed to foster systemic thinking and critical approaches through these cross-sector relationships.
With a strong focus on climate justice, LEVERS develops programs that integrate innovative and interdisciplinary educational methods. At its core, the initiative aims to create meaningful learning experiences that empower individuals to contribute actively to a more just and sustainable society.
Methodology
LEVERS employs strategies designed to engage diverse audiences, recognizing the range of values and perspectives needed to address environmental challenges effectively. The project emphasizes the need for urgent, system-wide responses that prioritize social justice and foster collaboration. By centering equity in climate action, LEVERS seeks to ensure that solutions to the climate crisis are fair, inclusive, and sustainable for all communities.
