Who we are
Know and Can Association, founded in 2007 in Sofia, Bulgaria, is a non-governmental organization dedicated to education and training. Specializing in non-formal education, it actively participates in European projects focusing on various aspects of adult learning, including human rights, justice, citizenship, employability, and mobility.
Through partnerships with entities from all EU-member and non-member countries, Latin America and Africa, Know and Can Association has established a broad international network, emphasizing the importance of global collaboration in education initiatives.
As a member of three European networks for project management and implementation, along with affiliation with the International Vocational Education and Training Association (IVETA), Know and Can demonstrates its commitment to advancing the quality and accessibility of high-quality education on both European and global scales.
Operating a licensed Center for Career Guidance and Information and a training provider (Know and Can Ltd.), recognized by the Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science, the organization offers services aimed at enhancing the qualifications of educational staff and providing comprehensive adult education opportunities. With expertise in soft and transversal skill development, innovative educational techniques, entrepreneurship, interculturality, career guidance, social integration, employability, and lifelong learning, Know and Can addresses diverse needs within the sphere of adult education.
The team comprises specialists from various fields such as psychology, sociology, pedagogy, economics, law, European studies, journalism, and media.
Know and Can Association serves as a cornerstone in promoting adult education, contributing significantly to individual growth, societal development, and international cooperation in the field.
What we do
Know and Can primary activities include developing and managing educational projects and programs, employing modern education methodologies, collaborating with relevant organizations and institutions, offering vocational guidance and career counseling, and providing training for the personal development of adults.
K&C main activities are: development and management of educational projects and programmes; applying modern methods and techniques for the development of education; cooperation with organizations and institutions working in the field of education and educational services; vocational guidance and career counselling; soft, transversal and civic skills trainings for personal development and knowledge acquisition; organizing educational trainings and courses for people working in the educational sector; organizing educational events.
K&C has experience in national and EU projects for the development of soft and transversal skills; innovative educational techniques in formal and non-formal education; entrepreneurship; equality and inclusion; fighting against early school leaving and illiteracy; active citizenship and civic participation; interculturality; career guidance; enhancing the personal and professional skills; employability and labour market; diversity management; lifelong learning; volunteering.

The 4equality project focuses on improving employability and promoting equal opportunities for young women pursuing careers in male-dominated industries such as business and STEM. It provides tools to help women build awareness of gender bias, develop strategies to cope with discrimination, and strengthen their competitive edge in the job market.
A dynamic approach to fostering gender balance in ICT studies and careers, LeadHER project integrates educational and community stakeholders and families through continuous feedback to shape impactful teaching frameworks and policy interventions.
IgnitorHub 2025: New Ideas for New Opportunities Network is an international networking event that brings together organisations from across Europe to exchange project ideas, build partnerships, and develop future Erasmus+ and EU-funded collaborations. Through keynote presentations, pitching sessions, B2B meetings, and interactive networking activities, participants gain practical insights while connecting with potential partners to turn ideas into successful projects.

EAEA is a European NGO whose purpose is to link and represent European organisations directly involved in adult learning. Originally known as the European Bureau of Adult Education, EAEA was founded in 1953 by representatives from a number of European countries.
EAEA promotes adult learning and access to and participation in non-formal adult education for all, particularly for groups currently under-represented.
