SUMMARY:Who is afraid of Quality Assurance? Supporting a culture of quality in the ALE sector
DESCRIPTION:For many educators and policymakers\, ‘Quality Assurance’ is linked to strong bureaucratic processes and additional workload. In this event we will talk about a culture of Quality Assurance\, seen as a mindful process of continuous improvements. \nIf you are interested to know more\, join us for the online workshop ‘’ Who is afraid of Quality Assurance? Supporting a culture of quality in the ALE sector’’ on Tuesday 24 March – 10.00 AM – 12.00 PM CET \nThis online workshop aims to support participants in understanding the core aspects of Quality Assurance within the adult education sector\, and in particular non-formal education providers and smaller providers. We will answer two main questions: what does Quality Assurance mean in non-formal ALE? What do we really need for ALE organisations to build a strong culture of Quality Assurance? \nParticipants will explore the Q-ALE Code of conduct and self-assessment tool (as developed in the frame of the project Q-ALE – Quality assurance in non-formal Adult Learning and Education). Participants will also be invited to provide their feedback on what can be improved and adapted further in their contexts. \nThe Q-ALE Code is formulated to support non-formal adult learning organisations to improve their quality assurance processes\, to structure and formalise them\, make them regular and coherent\, and prepare the organisation to comply with current and potentially new QA standards in their countries\, etc.\, also to respond to the current and future challenges the ALE sector is facing across Europe. \nRegister now!  \nDiscover more about the Q-ALE initiative \nThe Q-ALE Code of Conduct is freshly available in its beta version! We are happy to invite webinar participants to have a look and provide feedback during the working sessions! Q-ALE Model – Quality Assurance for ALE (beta version) \nWould you like to provide feedback to support our work? Please\, join also the Online validation process in March/April 2026 – All the information here. \nAgenda of the workshop\nModerator: Viola Pinzi and Charlotte Ede\, EAEA \n10.00-10.30 \nQuality Assurance in ALE is possible: methods and perspectives \nExamples of existing QA methods and tools that are useful and appropriate for the ALE sector. \n\nSelf-assessment as a powerful internal evaluation method – Tanja Mozina\, Head of the department for Quality and Training of Adult Educators\, Slovenian Institute for Adult Education\nThe European Peer Review Methodology: an ALE-appropriate evaluation method – Chiara Marchetta\, QA expert\, FORMA.Azione\, Italy\n\n10.30-11.00 \nWhat do ALE organisations need to make QA a reality? \nOverview of pilot activities in the Q-ALE countries and preliminary insights from national participants. \n\nKarolina Pisz\, sTOP\, Poland\nSunčica Stanić-Gluhinić and Marijeta Barlek\, POU Varaždin\, Croatia\nAnna Kirstina\, Finnish Study Centers\, Finland\n\n11.00-11.50 \nQuality Assurance made feasible: the Q-ALE Approach \nIntroduction to the general approach and core aspects of Q-ALE Code and discussion with participants for input and feedback. \n\nQ-ALE Code of Conduct for QA in ALE organisations – Presentation\, Viola Pinzi\, EAEA – 10’\nWhat do you need to implement QA strategies in your organisation? – Working groups in break out rooms – 40’\n\n11.50-12.00 \nConclusions and next steps – 10’

SUMMARY:ENHANCE LEARNER VOICE: Building the road to participatory policy making in Adult Education
DESCRIPTION:CONCEPT \nThis 4-hour workshop aims to bring together a diverse group of participants to explore how adult learners can actively shape policies that affect their education. Using the ENHANCE Workshop Methodology\, the session guides participants through an experiential process—from setting the scene and building community to defining practices of learner voice and co-designing policy actions. Rooted in dialogue and international cooperation\, the workshop aligns with the LLLWeek 2025\, fostering cross-border exchange of participatory tools and approaches. Drawing from European experiences\, the session highlights how a learner voice can serve as a bridge between grassroots realities and policymaking arenas. By the end of the workshop\, participants will have co-created a shared roadmap identifying enablers\, obstacles\, and strategies for embedding learner participation in adult education governance. Their contributions will feed into broader European dialogues on inclusive policy design\, reinforcing the principle that learners are not merely beneficiaries of education systems—but essential partners in shaping them. \nBe sure to reserve your place as soon as possible\, as seating is limited! \nAgenda \n\n\n\nTime\nModule / Activity\n\n\n09:30 – 10:00\nWelcome to the ENHANCE ecosystem \nIntroducing the ENHANCE Roadmap for participatory policy making \nAngeliki Giannakopoulou\, Senior Policy and Projects Coordinator\, EAEA\n\n\n10:00 – 10:15\nSetting the Scene: The example of learners’ movements in Serbia  \nKatarina Popovic\, Secretary General of ICAE\n\n\n10:15 – 11:00\nBuilding a Voice -Forward Community  \nMapping common goals and defining good practices of learners’ voice implementation using the ENHANCE Matrix \nRoundtable discussion \n\n\n11:00-11:30\nLight Brunch\n\n\n11:30 – 13:00\nDesigning our own Policy Roadmap and defining policy Re-Routes & Dead-Ends\n\n\n13:00 – 13:30\nWrap-up and reflections \nAlexandra Matthys\, Education and Lifelong Learning Officer\, SOLIDAR Foundation\n\n\n\n  \nAbout the organisers \nEAEA\, the European Association for the Education of Adults\, is the voice of non-formal and informal adult education in Europe. SUMMARY:Webinar Empowering Educators: Transitioning to Effective Online Instruction
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our webinar helping educators to move from classroom to screen\n🗓️ Tuesday\, 3 June\n🕜 9:00–10:00 CET\n👉 Register: https://ec.europa.eu/eusurvey/runner/empowering_educators \nThe webinar is about the challenges that educators who are used to face-to-face classroom teachings face when they start teaching online. This challenge was felt by most teachers in the world five years ago\, and while certain things have improved since the Covid days\, the step of moving from a classroom to a screen is not easy. In this one-hour session\, two experts will discuss these challenges with the Hub participants\, and explain what works and what does not work based on their experiences. \nYou’ll learn:\n– Practical techniques for virtual classrooms\n– Solutions for common online teaching challenges\n– Insights from educators who have successfully transitioned \nSpeakers \n\nRichard Powers\, Learning Designer and digital education expert at the University of Stuttgart. He regularly teaches longer and shorter courses for teachers who want to learn more about online teaching. Has won the eTwinning for future teachers – European award for initial teacher education (information here).\nLieselot Declercq\, founder of d-teach online\, with which she went through the first round of the Hub Accelerator Programme. Also founder of ICONS International Community of Online Schools\, about which she recently posted on the Hub. She has for these organisations developed modules for teachers starting with online training.\n\nYou want to attend the webinar but are not yet a member of the European Digital Education hub members?
